About the Author – Tasterium.com
My name is Marcel Fontaine, and Tasterium is not just a website for me – it is the project of my life.
For many years, I have been fascinated by flavors – how they shape our culture, our history, and even our memories. I believe that taste is one of the most powerful connections between people, and through this project I want to share that passion with you.
I started Tasterium because I noticed that when people search for information about taste – whether it is a fruit, a spice, or a traditional ingredient – they often find only short and superficial answers. I wanted to go deeper, to bring together both scientific knowledge and cultural traditions, and to describe flavors in a way that is precise, trustworthy, and inspiring.
This website is my way of building a place where anyone – from chefs and food lovers to students and curious readers – can discover the true character of each flavor. Every article here is written with care, based on research and experience, and always with the idea that knowledge should be clear and accessible.
For me, Tasterium is not a job. It is a journey of curiosity, dedication, and respect for food and culture. I hope that when you read these pages, you not only learn something new but also feel the same passion that drives me every day.
Thank you for being here, and for letting me share this journey with you.
